Astolfi e Associati traces its roots back to the law firm founded in the early 1950s by Atty. Antonio Astolfi, who left his post as an assistant professor in international law at the University of Pavia to set up his own practice in Milan and cultivate his interest in international trade law. Later, as his career advanced in the 1960s, Atty. Astolfi also developed a strong interest in pharmaceutical and health law.
In addition to the practice of law, Atty. Astolfi has always attached great importance to scientific study. In 1962 he founded the journal “Diritto comunitario e degli scambi internazionali” (EU law and international trade law) and later, in 1968, the “Rassegna di diritto farmaceutico” pharmaceutical law review.
Today, after more than forty years, during which it has gradually extended its attention to embrace healthcare issues in general, the pharmaceutical law review continues to be edited by Astolfi e Associati under its new title “Rassegna di diritto farmaceutico e della salute” (pharmaceutical and health law review).
Pharmaceutical and health law are still Astolfi e Associati’s main areas of activity, together with civil, commercial and banking law, with the objective of offering complementary services to meet clients’ legal consulting needs in full. This has led the practice to gradually develop a specialisation in issues of interest to the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, a vocation consolidated by the arrival of Atty. Andrea Astolfi, a professor in commercial law at the University of Pavia and the son of Atty. Antonio Astolfi, and Atty. Sonia Selletti, an expert in pharmaceutical law, with previous experience as head of the legal department of a pharmaceutical company.
Today, Astolfi e Associati is a growing law practice serving the needs of Italian and foreign clients alike through the work of its partners and collaborators, its ties with many colleagues in major Italian cities and its well-established network of international relations.
